PROMOTING RESILIENCE IN DIVERSE (PRIDE) FAMILY STUDIES LAB

Principal Investigator: Dr. Shelby Scott

OUR RESEARCH

In the PRIDE Family Studies Lab, our goal is to understand how diverse couples and families navigate complex and evolving systems of oppression, as well as how marginalized populations develop resilience and cope through these processes.

Thus far, our work has focused on relationship dynamics in female same-sex couples and the development of culturally sensitive relationship interventions and clinical guidelines for same-sex couples. We plan to continue our research in the lab with an emphasis on intersectionality across families from different marginalized identities.
